Where art and technology meets, that seems to be the goal of NoiseBridge, a hacker space that just opened up in SF this week. This is defiantly something the HackBloc collective wants to be involved with, and it seems that Mitch Altman (inventor of the TV B GONE) is a main organizer. If anyone from NoiseBridge reads this page, Contact US! we would love to do a lecture on encryption and collaborate!

That place looks pretty
That place looks pretty fucking sweet. I wonder though, as I have been for some time, how can I find the time and financial resources required to work on all the projects that I would like to. Now that this place is open the question is partially answered, though I am guessing they charge rent, and guessing from the location, probably a significant one. Basically I think someone should either pay me to work on all these different projects, or someone should open up a nice squat for me to live in and convince the people there that I don have to pay rent.
stop by some tuesday..?
hey,
Not sure if you've had a chance to do so, but Noisebridge has meetings every Tuesday at 8pm in the space. Please feel free to come by and talk to people. There is also a fair bit of construction and build out going on in the space, so you may find friendly people around at other times. There's a phone number on our wiki (http://www.noisebridge.net ) to call so you can figure out if someone is around.
We also have an IRC channel (#noisebridge on freenode) and mailing list. (Think I saw someone from here briefly pop up on our channel or a post to the list already?) If you want to hold a workshop introducing people to one of your projects, send an e-mail to the list suggesting it. That seems to be a good way to get people interested.
We are currently working out these issues about what "membership" means, how much to charge for "membership," and how to deal with the fact that not everyone can pay the same amount, and so on. Right now it looks like no one will live in the space, though.
I want to stress, however, that we still want people to hang out and contribute, even if they don't plan to be dues paying members. So feel free to come by. You can check out the wiki to see the most recent consensus or thinking on some of these issues, but there's a lot still open.

My tuesday evenings are
My tuesday evenings are opening up so i could come over and join a meeting.
The encryption lecture covers all the kinds of encryption and why as activists EVERYONE needs to use it! We are planning to turn it into a zine at some point.
That sounds like a great
That sounds like a great workshop to suggest for noisebridge. add it to the wiki agenda for a meeting, then show up and see who's interested. then schedule and run it. -david
